Good morning Christi. My name is Rodney Carr and my family has lived in Bristol, since the early 1900s. I am currently working on the construction of a new Senior-Community Center in the Town of Bristol. I currently live in Denver, but have property in the town of Bristol. I have a great board under the Town of Bristol Improvements Board, and we are registered as a 501(c) 3 charitable nonprofit. My Facebook page is under Town of Bristol Improvements Board. I am trying to generate traffic to this page, as we are in the process of kicking off our memorial brick fundraising activities to help fund this project. I have raised enough foundation monies to purchase the building, but still need to raise monies for the pouring of the pad and other costs. Covid has slowed our movement forward some, but I feel blessed to have raised the dollars that I have so far.
I was wondering if you might be able to help generate traffic and likes to our Facebook page and get our fundraising activities out on social media? I have garnered the help of Sheryl Holden and Susie Hansen to help with the fundraising efforts. I know that this is not the best of times, since yields of crops were pretty bleak this year, and Covid has turned our whole world upside down.
My board members include me, Alvin Deforest, Linda Lonnberg, Linda Knobbe, Gerald Birchler, and Rose (Baca) Garcia.
I can email you my phone number if you have a minute to discuss our push forward to full funding and complete construction of our new center in Bristol, hopefully by the end of 2020.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!

    1. Thanks for commenting Rodney! I just deleted my Facebook account last week, so I won’t be able to help there. But you have some great people you are working with and they will know the local Facebook groups that may generate interest.

Thank you for replying. I am working with Deb Pelley with Lamar Area Hospice to get the word out also. County commissioners are behind us also and helped haul in 28 loads of base materials last week. I went to college with Lori Shalberg at CSU-Pueblo, so your tribute to her was very nicely done. When you lose friends and relatives at an early age, it makes you reflect on the fragility of life! Have a wonderful day, and you and the family are officially invited to our grand opening, whenever that may be in the near future.
